BAI, American Banker recognize company for exceptional digital design and functionality

AUSTIN, TX (Oct. 5, 2016) – Today Malauzai announced that at the inaugural BAI Beacon, it was named a 2016 FinTech Forward Company to Watch by American Banker and BAI.

Malauzai was recognized for innovations introduced and milestones achieved over the past year, including the launch of MOX Pay, a service allowing community banks and credit unions to publish apps for small business customers. The award also acknowledged Malauzai’s growth and evolution since the company was founded in 2009. Malauzai’s SmartApps surpassed one million downloads in 2015 and the company now supports more than 200 points of integration, including more than 40 core providers.

“Since 2009, we have worked to change how community banks and credit unions compete,” said Robb Gaynor, chief product officer, Malauzai. “We have helped community institutions become first to market with smartwatch apps and become early adopters of debit card management services. It is an honor to be named a Company to Watch; we sincerely appreciate the acknowledgement by American Banker and BAI that there are great things to come from Malauzai.”

In addition to launching new services such as MOX Pay, Malauzai continually expands the value of its mobile/internet banking platform with new functionality and distinguished designs. SmartApps feature the latest Personal Financial Management (PFM) capabilities, robust card security management features, and facilitate P2P payments for businesses and consumers. This year, Malauzai also introduced a Family Manager program, which allows users to grant entitlements to others, such as family members or accountants.

“This year’s Companies to Watch are driving positive change within the industry. These organizations provide financial services leaders with powerful tools to better serve their customers,” said BAI’s Chief Marketing Officer and Companies to Watch Judge, Holly Hughes.

Gaynor added, “As a ‘Company to Watch,’ our current focus is on creating a personalized experience for every user and helping community financial institutions distinguish their mobile offerings with apps that look great and that let users be in the driver’s seat of their personal or business transaction.”

The 2016 Fintech Forward Companies to Watch was judged by individuals from the American Banker editorial staff, BAI executives as well as select bankers. Malauzai was recognized among the winners during BAI Beacon’s Celebration of Innovation on Wednesday, October 5.
