In January, we extended Customer Support Operations to better support additional needs due to “Blizzard 2016.” Many of you took advantage of your SmartApp solution to communicate to your customers and members. For those of you who didn’t leverage the marketing messages function, your SmartApp messaging solution is an easy and effective method for providing customers with additional information regarding branch/location closures or changes in hours.

There are a variety of ways you can get information into the hands of your mobile users. An easy method is to leverage a custom marketing message that will support a custom image. Keep in mind our Design Team can spin up some amazing custom content if you need assistance. These messages will appear when your users access the digital suite.

What do you love most about what you do?

I love working with any and all sorts of technology. My job also allows me to get to know all of our employees more personally.

Life before Malauzai

Prior to joining Malauzai, Josh managed COA (Cloud Oriented Architecture) and DevOps for an IoT company.

What is something we might not know about you?

I used to sell candy and wheel and deal video games for extra money in junior high.

Hobbies? 

Playing video games, going to the lake and fishing, riding dirt bikes, and playing music.

What do you do?

Quality Assurance supports the developers and the UX team so that the end product is something we can all be proud of and that will delight our customers.

What do you love most about what you do?

The work I do directly improves the quality of the product, I take pride in knowing that thousands of users will be directly impacted and benefited by the work my team and I do.

Life before Malauzai

Prior to joining Malauzai, Derek worked with various start-ups on websites and web application development.

What is something we might not know about you?

I love to cook. Huge follower of Chef John from Food Wishes. I’ve made or modified at least 30 of his recipes and try to make at least one new dish a week.

Hobbies? 

I love to build things. I work with wood, build websites, build computers, lots of DIY projects. I read a new book every other week. I also really enjoy to go shooting, I don’t hunt or anything but I have destroyed many a paper target and clay pigeon in my time.


Suzanne Morgan

Quality Assurance Engineer

Joined Malauzai in February 2013

What do you do?

Suzanne tests apps to ensure content and features are correct before they go to the FI for UAT and then again before they get submitted to the store.

What do you love most about what you do?

I’m a fault-finder by nature.  QA lets me turn a personality flaw into a way to make a living.

Life before Malauzai

Prior to joining Malauzai, Suzanne worked for Pixel Magic/DNP which makes software for photo printing kiosks.  She also worked for Kulabyte/Haivision which makes software for encoding and streaming live video.

What is something we might not know about you?

I took a class where I learned how to use a fire extinguisher correctly.  We went out to an empty parking lot and they lit 5-gallon buckets of gasoline on fire.  We had to put the fires out.  It is harder than it looks.  

Hobbies? 

Photography and hanging out with my cats and dogs.
